Fair play: Margaret Norton speaks candidly about being reunited with her birth parents

Margaret Norton spoke candidly on last night’s Late Late Show about the immense ordeal she endured because of the State and doctors while trying to find her birth parents.

Margaret was born in 1972 and was adopted by her adopted parents shortly thereafter.

She eventually started looking for her birth parents around the time she became a parent herself.

Margaret told of how useless Minister for Children Frances Fitzgerald was and how a doctor in Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan practically played hide and seek with her genuine birth details on her birth cert.

Eventually, Margaret’s husband came up with the idea of doing a DNA ancestry kit test – what prevailed were amazing results which saw Margaret reunited with her parents and finding herself with a new brother and sister.

A tough story with a happy ending from a lovely lady.
