Fighting back: Petition launched to stop ‘Super Mosque’ being built in Blanchardstown

An online petition has been set up to garner signatures in objections to the proposed super Mosque and Islamic complex in Blanchardstown.

Among issues raised in the petition are objections to a 90ft minaret, noise pollution from the five times daily prayer call, and the impact on the local community from a large increase in people and traffic in the area from outside the locality on a regular basis, which is sure to occur if the massive complex is constructed.

Many in the Dublin 15 area have voiced concerns about the large Islamic complex, particularly in terms of its funding.

Concerns have also been expressed that Fingal County Council may be intimidated into giving permission regardless of the opinion of local population or regulations for fear of being seen as politically incorrect if they do not.
