The Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney has confirmed that a five-year-old Irish boy has suffered a broken leg and his father was injured during the recent terrorist attack in Barcelona.
Mr Coveney who was speaking to RTE’s Morning Ireland programme confirmed the news after initial reports on Friday revealed that an Irish family of four were caught up in the incident that left 14 other people dead and hundreds more injured.
After speaking with Spanish authorities Mr Coveney told the programme and its listeners that young boy suffered a broken femur(thigh bone) during the horrific.
Meanwhile his father also suffered a number of injuries in the sickening attack that left them both hospitalised.
However the boy’s mother and sister thankfully were physically unharmed in the incident, but they were treated for shock following the attack.
