The country experienced its first spell of snow at the tail end of last week and almost everyone was besotted with the white stuff, and now it seems we could be in for more wintery scenes as bookmakers have slashed the odds on the country having a white Easter.

According to the people at Ladbrokes Ireland is almost certain to have a white Easter and they are giving fantastic odds of 6/1 for it to happen. It is understood the popular bookmaker are also offering 2/1 that March temperatures in Dublin will be even lower than three years ago, when the coldest March was recorded with a monthly average of 3.1 degrees.

The rather bold prediction comes after forecasters have said that Ireland in the UK will experience one of the coldest springs on record with tempatures expected to drop as low as -10C. Leading forecasters suggest this will occur due to freezing artic winds will spread across Ireland and the UK towards the end of March.

Although nothing can be officially predicated, it might well be worth putting a few bob on it at those odds!
