France decides: The European big wigs sit on the edge of their seats as the French vote for their new President

Marine Le Pen aims to become the first French female President today as the French go to vote.

Le Pen has promised to “take France out of the European Union” and regain their soverignity, identity, border control, security and major immigration reform.

If Marine Le Pen is elected today in France, it will effectively mean the end of the European Union because France and Germany basically run it between themselves and if France were to pull out then the whole beaucratic programme or “monster” as the French canidate calls it will fall to pieces.

Her opponent, 39-yr-old Emmanuel Macron has vowed to keep France in the EU and is the clear favourite going into polling day, however Le Pen’s message has hit home with many French people and she is hoping to ride on the crest of the wave that brought along Brexit in the UK last summer and President Donald Trump in the United States of America last November.

We’ll know what the French people have decided by around 8pm Irish time tonight.
