The French Government have confirmed that plans to increase fuel prices across the country will not go ahead.

In an announcement made on Wednesday night, the French Government have said the decision to scrap the price hike comes after weeks of unrest in the country.

According to reports in France, it is understood that the French Government are eager to put an end to violence in the country following weeks of protesting and rioting by the so called yellow vest campaign.

The decision however hasn’t eased tensions in the country as more protests are scheduled for this coming weekend.

It is believed the French public have become increasingly unsettled by President Macron’s pro-business agenda.

Protesters claim the French Government’s policy does little to help ordinary people living in France.
