Gardaí in Co Mayo have appealed for witnesses after an elderly man was struck by car over the weekend.
It is understood the man aged in his 80s was seriously injured during the incident which happened at approximately 6.45pm on Saturday evening on the N5 road approximately 2km outside of Charlestown.
Gardai say elderly gentleman was taken to University Hospital Mayo were he remains in serious condition.
Meanwhile they also say the occupants of the vehicle involved were uninjured in the collision.
