Gardaí in Co Monaghan are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed an aggravated burglary at a house in Castleblaney to come forward and contact them.
It is understood that four men entered the house at Killycard at approximately 5.30pm on Sunday afternoon and threatened the occupants of the house.
Gardai say that two women and four young children were in the house at the time of the burglary. They also say that a women suffered head injuries and had to receive treatment at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
Gardaí say they are appealing to anyone who may have seen a Silver Opel Vectra in the Shercock Road area between 5pm and 6pm on Sunday evening. It is also understood that a fifth person was driving the vehicle.
