Gardaí in Co Offaly have arrested four people in connection with an assault on a referee earlier this month.
The four men, two aged in their 20s, one one aged in his 40s, and a teenager were arrested on Wednesday morning.
Gardaí say the arrests come after the referee Daniel Sweeney suffered serious injuries to his face during the match which occurred two weeks ago.
It is understood all four men are being detained at Mullingar, Tullamore and Birr Garda stations.
