Gardaí have launched a murder investigation this morning after a man was shot dead in Tallaght last night.
It is understood the man, aged in his late 20s, died from a number of gunshot wounds he received during the incident which happened on Fortunestown Lane, Tallaght, Dublin 24 at approximately 9.20pm on Monday night.
Gardai say the man was treated at the scene but he was sadly pronounced dead by paramedics a short time later.
They also say an investigation is currently ongoing and they are awaiting the results of a post mortem examination.
