Gardai have launched an investigation after a hit and run incident in Co. Longford leaves one man dead.
Two men were walking home on Friday night at 11:45pm when they were struck by a car near Newtownforbes, Co. Longford.
A 32-yr-old man was killed by the crash while the second man was not hurt in the crash.
The N4 Sligo to the east road was closed with diversions in place over the weekend while a detailed examination was carried out.
Gardai say a man in his 20s has come forward in relation to the incident.
