Good Friday Services take place throughout the country with particular emphasis placed on the right to life for unborn babies

Good Friday Services have taken place and will be taking place this afternoon and this evening here in Ireland and around the world.

Packed Churches, marking the passing of Jesus by venerating the cross, heard Sermons fiercely focused on defending human life both born and unborn.

With the upcoming referendum on allowing abortion on demand up to 3 months, Bishops advised their Parish Priests to put great emphasis on the sanctity of life both born and with particular emphasis on unborn Irish babies and their future.

Fr Michael O’Brien said:
“We want to put particular emphasis on life both born and unborn. God knows us before we are born and creates us all for a purpose – that purpose gets stopped when an unborn baby gets their life ended with abortion.”

“We all have fundamental human rights but the most fundamental human right of all is the right to life – the right to life for unborn babies allowing them to be born and enjoy life as we all do is of the utmost importance and you must remember this when the upcoming referendum on abortion takes place on May 25th.”
