Grand coalition looking unlikely after Fianna Fáil responds to Fine Gael by saying they fully intend on “scrapping Irish Water”

The prospect of an grand coalition is looking increasingly unlikely after Fianna Fáil has responded to Fine Gael by saying they are fully committed to bringing forward nee laws that will see Irish Water completely scrapped,

Fianna Fail’s response comes after Fine Gael said they were fully in favour of keeping the much hated water charges.
However, Fianna Fáil minister Barry Cowen has seemingly thrown a spanner in the works after he stated that his party fully intends to implement all of the policies from its election manifesto.

Mr Cowen said: “There’s no such thing as a red line, whether it’s red or blue or a clothes line, it’ll be debated in the entirety of our manifesto with a view to implementing what we sought and got support for. “We are committed to producing legislation that will abolish Irish Water.”
