Today, Sunday, is a rather dull and cloudy day, with outbreaks of rain across many areas of the country.
The coming week will bring a more typically Irish summer weather, with cool breezes, overcast conditions, and rain, mostly across the midlands and the west. Highest temperatures will be about 20C, 21C at best.
Conditions will tend to improve towards the end of the week, as early indications point to a dry and bright weekend.
