Here we go again – Met Eireann are forecasting a status yellow warning for the weekend for “Storm Brian”

Ophelia might have just said goodbye to our shores but it looks like her friend Brian is coming to say hello.

Met Eireann are claiming that heavy rainfall and winds for Friday and Saturday may warrant a status yellow weather warning and thus produce what is being called “Storm Brian”.

It still remains uncertain at this stage as wind direction is changing daily, but Thursday looks to be the worst of the week with much of the week’s rainfall to fall over the course of the day.

The national forecaster stressed however that the forthcoming back weather this week will be nothing compared to Ophelia and that it still may not develop into a storm – just heavy rain and strong wind.
