A 13 year old boy is set to be charged with two counts of murder and could be tried as an adult after he murdered his two toddler siblings.
The horrific case which has been described as disturbing by prosecutors comes after the young teenager killed his 23 month old sister Desiree McCartney and his 11 month old brother Nathaniel Ritz in 2017.
According to reports in the US, the 13-year-old who cannot be named due to legal reasons, apparently decided to commit the killings in order to free them from this living hell.
The boy who also previosuly squeezed a family members kitten so hard that its insides burst through its skin, claimed that he had help from an angel to carry-out the killings.
It is believed the boy told fellow family members that he held blankets over the young infants heads until they stopped making noise.
The horrific killings were uncovered after Desiree’s body was found in the family home in Osgood, Indiana, in May 2017, whilst Nathaniel’s lifeless remains were found three months later.
Police investigating the deaths say they decided to question the teen after a relative informed them about the abuse that he inflicted on the kitten after it scratched him.
The concerned family member told officers about the boy’s disturbing behaviour when it came to putting the seriously injured kitten down. They told officers that he asked to go with them so he could see the kitten’s brains being splatted everywhere.
Following his arrest police officers were shocked to discover that the boy committed the killings because he had a conversation with God, but he refused to tell them what God apparently said as he promised he wouldn’t tell anyone.
Since his arrest the young boy has been placed in a juvenile detention center and is set to be charged with two counts of murder.
Although the teenager will undergo a competency evaluation, it is believed that prosecutors are requesting that he be tried as an adult given the severity of his crimes.
