An investigation is underway at a Co Cork school after a ‘sexual assault’ list was found inside the boys toilets.
The alarming incident was brought to light recently after a parent of a student attending Davis College in Mallow contacted Cork’s Red FM to express their shock at what was uncovered.
It is understood the school have begun an investigation into the incident after it was uncovered that the list which contained the names of female students was written on the wall of the boys toilets.
The list which contained the names of a number of young girls, apparently requested that those viewing it put a tick beside a girl’s name and the name with the most ticks would then be allegedly targeted.
In a brief statement released this afternoon the principle of Davis College, Stephen Gilbert, said the school were treating the incident as a serious matter and an internal investigation is underway.
Mr Gilbert also stated that the young girls named on the list and their parents have be informed about the incident.
He added that the safety of students is paramount, and those affected by the incident have been given the appropriate time to issue any queries or concerns they may have.
