In response to the current migrant and refugee crisis, Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald has today hinted that Ireland will take around 1,800 refugees into the country.
The European Union is expected to issue a proposal in the coming days for 150,000 refugees to be taken across member states.
So far, Ireland has pledged to accept 600 people.
