The ratings agency Standard & Poor’s has upgraded Ireland’s outlook from ‘-A’ to ‘A’, forecasting a stable outlook.
In its statement, the company referred to “solid economic growth, job creation, management of public finances and early repayment by NAMA of senior bonds” as the reasons for the upwards revision.
Minister for Finance Michael Noonan said that this upgrade constitutes further evidence that the country’s financial recovery has taken a firm foothold.
