TDs who run to the toilet when it’s their round, or conveniently run to the chamber for a vote when the bill is presented will soon see price of the drinks they had deducted automatically from their salary.
According to RTE News, all TDs and senators have recently received a letter from the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission stating that a new credit policy for the Dáil bar and restaurant will commence in the summer and will see unpaid Dail bar tabs deducted from those who built them up.
This comes after some €5,500 was left unpaid in recent months in the Dail bar with the taxpayer footing the bill.
