Kenny: “I won’t be stepping down anytime soon”

The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has poured cold water on any suggestions that he will step aside as Fine Gael leader in the future, by telling his party colleagues he has a lot more to do before he will consider retiring.

Mr Kenny who was speaking a event honouring former TDs TDs Dan Neville and Michael Finucane, in Dunraven Arms Hotel in Adare, Co Limerick said he will not be standing aside anytime soon.

Mr Kenny told his colleagues that they needed to be patient, and that a lot of work needs to be done by the Government in the months and years ahead.
