Making a difference: New records show homeless activist group Home Sweet Home received almost €200,000 in donations in just six weeks




According to reports today the activist group who occupied Dublin’s Apollo House just before Christmas, received almost €200,000 in donations in recent weeks.

The Home Sweet Home group who are activity fighting to end homelessness reportedly received €189,604.75 in donations between December 16th and 27th January.

The group has received widespread public support after they occupied the NAMA owned Apollo House in December in order to provide shelter for Dublin’s homeless people.

Records show that most of the funding was raised through GoFundMe website. It is also believed the group almost spent €61,000 of the funding on services, including professional security.

The group say the donations are very much appreciated and could go some way to helping many homeless people.
