Bringing the total to 62 fatalities on Irish roads, a young man has died after an accident in Co Waterford.
In his late 20’s the young man was involved in a collision on the road this morning near Kilmacthomas, Co Waterford.
The single occupant of the car was examined and pronounced dead at the scene, following his collision with a truck on the N52 at 7.50am this morning.
The other individual involved, the truck driver, did not require medical attention.
An ambulance has taken the deceased to University Hospital Waterford and forensics are said to be arriving on the scene to examine the cause of the incident.
The amount of deaths so far on Irish roads this year is 62, which is an increase on 50 deaths in May 2015.
