New survey finds one in ten women wear their seatbelt incorrectly to protect their fake tan




According to a new survey one in ten women have admitted that have purposely worn their seatbelt under their arm to protect their fake tan.

The alarming figures have been released by the RSA who have launched a devoted campaign which encourages women to wear their seatbelt correctly across their body.

The survey which was published today also found that 7% of female motorists they purposely wear their seatbelt incorrectly to protect their outfit.

Speaking about the dangers of wearing a seatbelt incorrectly Brian Farrell from the Road Safety Authority said: “Using the seatbelt under the arm is the same as not wearing a seatbelt at all, you may as well not be wearing a seatbelt.”

“In the event of a collision, you could suffer horrific injuries, horrific head injuries, facial injuries, neck injuries and injuries to the spine as well.”
