The first exit poll last night was released shortly after 10pm and has predicted that Michael D Higgins will be re-elected as President.
Higgins polled at 58% with Peter Casey on 21% in second place.
Liadh Ni Riada is on 7%, Joan Freeman is on 6% joined by Sean Gallagher with Gavin Duffy on 2%.
This morning the official count begins at 9am.
It also appears that the blasphemy referendum will be carried with a yes vote.
