Police in Zimbabwe are currently conducting a search for a U.S. tourist who is on the run after he killed an extremely rare lion named Cecil. Police have confirmed the identity of Cecil’s killer as an American dentist named Walter Palmer.
The tragic and brutal killing of Cecil has caused outrage amongst people on social media with many slamming Palmer for his unjust and barbaric killing of the popular lion. It is understood that Palmer and avid hunter paid a local ranger $50,000 to lure Cecil out of his nature park reserve so that he could kill him with a bow and arrow.
Zimbabwean police authorities say they want question Mr Palmer about the brutal killing but have been unable to locate him after he fled the country a short time after killing the rare lion. The police authorities have also said they believe me Palmer has returned home and they have alerted the U.S. authorities in the hope that he can be located and be returned to Zimbabwe for questioning.
