Students at Goldsmiths, University of London and King’s College London will from now on use the word womxn instead of woman, as it contains the word ‘man’ which many find offensive.
Metro UK reports that advertisements by the Universities’ Student Unions and websites connected to the colleges now have been using the womxn in place of woman or women since October but people are still confused.
The word ‘womyn’ which was also used by feminist decades ago as an alternative to woman, was not considered as its too closely associated with white, cisgender (identifying as the gender you actually are) feminism.

This move come after another University in the UK discouraged lecturers from using capital letters as it may frighten students.
So-called “safe spaces” where students are shielded from ideas that challenge their world view and suppression of speech deemed “hateful”, controversial or that debunks progressive narratives are also rapidly becoming part of life on college campuses.
