Cervical cancer patient Emma Mhic Mhathúna has described her recent meeting with President Michael D Higgins and his wife Sabrina as a honour.
According to RTÉ Newsthe brave mother of five held an hour long meeting with President Higgins, after he arrived in Baile na nGall in West Kerry ón Wednesday evening.
Following the meeting which also seen Ms Mhathúna’s children in attendance, the brave cancer patient who was informed she had terminal cancer just last week, said she deeply honoured to meet President Higgins and his attendance clearly acknowledged the injustice to all the women involved in the controversy.
Ms Mhathúna also told RTÉ that the President’s visit will put more pressure on the government as it was a moment that will not go unnoticed.
Meanwhile President Higgins had previously described the meeting as wonderful but very valuable.
