Publicans all across the country have once again called on the Government to lift the ban on serving alcohol on Good Friday.
Leading publicans have claimed the ban is outdated and discriminatory, which results in a huge loss of revenue each year.
A spokesperson for the Vintners Federation of Ireland, has said the law must be changed in time for Easter.
The debate about the ban once again resurfaces this year as publicans claim it costs the exchequer €6m in taxes and excise.
