Quenching thirst might drain your purse: As Belfast hotel selling bottled water at €37 a bottle

The water charges may very well be in full effect and many of you may have thought about turning to bottled water as a cheaper alternative, however you could be very well in for a shock as a Belfast hotel is selling bottled water for an astonishing €37.

According to a consumer report it is understood that the City’s Merchant hotel have placed blotted water on its menu for customers dinning in their hotel restaurant. It is believed that the hotels cheapest bottle of stilled water is £4.95 (€7), whilst the most expensive is £26.45 (€37). The hotel have even installed personal butlers to help the hotel’s guests choose the water which is right for them by explaining the benefits and attributes of the different brands.

The report found that the most expensive water called Iceberg came from Canada and is considered to be the purest on earth, whilst the cheapest water called Speyside came a natural spring in the UK.

All which leaves the Irish public with an expensive bill to quench their thirst.
