Resurgent Scotland ease past a poor Welsh side in Murrayfield

Scotland have shown the rest of the world that their victory over Ireland three weeks ago was no fluke by beating a poor Welsh team 29-13 at Murrayfield this afternoon.

In a game that the Welsh were expected to win it was the plucky and determined Scots who came on top and took a deserved win.

Although it was close affair in the opening minutes with Russel and Halfpenny slotting over the bar, it was the Welsh who got the first try when Liam Williams crossed over in the corner after superb build up play from a quick tap and go free kick.

Scotland who were buoyed from recent strong performances over Ireland and France, kept in touch heading into the break with Russel slotting over two penalties to leave the scores 13-9.

The second half didn’t go according to plan for the Welsh as Scotland Seymour crossed over four minutes after the break to give Scotland a three point. Despite increasing Welsh pressure the Scots remains resolute and took full advantage on the 67th minute when Visser crossed over after a quick passing move down the left hand side.

With a 13 point lead Russell added a late penalty to put the gloss on a spirited Scottish performance, and send the Welsh back to the valleys with their title dreams in tatters.
