Legendary musician Keith Emerson, one of the founding members of rock band Emerson, Lake and Palmer was found dead at his home, with an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
His long-time girlfriend Mari Kawaguchi made the grim discovery last night at their Santa Monica home.
Emerson, Lake, and Palmer was formed in London back in the 70s, and would go on to release seven studio albums.
Bandmates and fans have paid tribute to the musician. Keith Emerson was 71 years of age at the time of his death.
