A confrontation between two groups of men in Cork ended up with one person in a serious condition in hospital.
The incident happened in Ballincollig, Co. Cork, yesterday evening. Authorities said that clubs and knives were involved in the brawl.
A man of Eastern European origin is in hospital with serious wounds as a result of the fracas.
Gardai sealed off an area around the Castle Park estate and are investigating the incident.
