A US Navy submarine commander has been relieved of duty after it was discovered that he hired ten prostitutes for himself in a single night while in port in The Philippines.
Captain Travis Zettel’s boat the USS Bremerton was docked in Subic Bay while on a farewell tour of the country. The Philippines is home to some of the US’s most important Naval bases in the Pacific region.
The Sub commander’s downfall was his own braggadocios indiscretion when he told two sailors that he had “ordered ten girls to arrive at the hotel” where he was staying.
One of the sailors reported this to Naval Criminal Investigative Service.
After an investigation Captain Zettel was relieved of command and redeployed to Submarine Squadron 19 at the naval base Kitsap-Bangor in Washington.
