A male teenager sadly lost his life after the car he was travelling in crashed into a ditch.
The accident happened at The Quay, Clare Island, Westport. Co. Mayo, earlier this morning.
The teenager was the sole occupant of the car.
The stretch of road remains closed to facilitate a technical examination.
