Temperatures set to plunge to -3C on Tuesday night as cold front approaches

Temperatures are set to drop significantly on Tuesday night, as a cold weather front approaches Ireland.

The thermometer will likely indicate -2 or -3C across many areas, leading to widespread frost formation and hazardous driving conditions.

Wednesday will begin rather chilly, with temperatures barely reaching 8C and a mix of showers and sunny spells throughout the day.

Thursday is forecast to see a similar weather pattern as the previous day.
