The founder of Casio and the man who pioneered the world famous G-Shock watch, Mr Kazuo Kashio has sadly passed away aged 89.
Tributes have poured in around the world from watch makers to one of their own after the man who founded the biggest digital watch brand in world died in Japan on Tuesday evening.
The G-Shock watch was born in 1983 and managed to transform from an army-type watch to a fashionable item, including its sibling the Baby-G.
From the mid 2000s the brand went downhill somewhat but has managed a resurgence over the last few years.
