Speaking just now shortly after 11am, the British Prime Minister Theresa May said that Manchester is “evil, appalling, sickening cowardice” that targeted “defenceless young people”.
The prime minister said: “It is now beyond doubt that the people of Manchester and of this country have fallen victim to a callous terrorist attack.”
She said the police believe they know the attacker’s identity but are not yet able to confirm it but will as soon as they can.
The death toll now stands at 22, many of whom are said to be children, with possibly more as at least 60 people are severely injured.
