Upwards of 35,000 people are still without water this afternoon, mainly across Cork, Wexford, Tipperary, and Limerick.
Almost 50,000 more people will experience disruption to their supply across the country.
And elsewhere, about 12,000 people around Co. Tipperary are under a ‘Do not drink’ order after water supplies were found to be contaminated by hydrocarbons.
The disruption is expected to last weeks.
