Police in the UK have confirmed that a 3 week old baby has tragically died after being bitten by a dog.
Northumbria police confirmed the news earlier today, it is understood that the baby boy from Sunderland was quickly taken to hospital after he was bitten a small terrier understood to be a family pet. The unnamed baby sadly died a short time later.
The dog has since been removed from the infants home has been put down.
Police say they have arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with the incident and is currently being interviewed by Northumbia police.
