Another road fatality has been added to the start of the year.
A man in his 60s was out walking with his 17-yr-old daughter near Lucan in West Dublin last night when a car struck them at around 9pm.
The man was treated by paramedics at the scene but unfortunately sadly died a short time later from his injuries. His daughter was taken to hospital where her condition is serious but not life threatening.
The driver of the car was treated for shock.
