Tragically a husband and wife from the UK who were here on holiday have been killed in a two car collision in Dromkeen in Co Limerick.
The crash between a lorry and a car happened on a straight section of the N24 Limerick to Tipperary road at Gortnadromin shortly before 11am yesterday morning.
The couple were aged in their 70s and 80s and were pronuounced dead at the scene. Currently a post-mortem examinations are to be carried out at University Hospital Limerick.
The driver of the lorry is aged in his 40s and sustained non-life threatening injuries.
