A woman in her 70s sadly lost her life, and three others sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash last night.
The incident took place at Clonmore, Togher, Co. Louth, at around 11:30pm yesterday evening.
The deceased was the passenger in one of the cars involved. The driver, a woman in her 60s, was seriously injured in the accident.
A 28-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman travelling in the other vehichle were also hurt, though their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
The road remains closed this morning, and local diversions are in place.
