Police in the North have sadly confirmed that a man aged in his 70s has died following an incident at the Giant’s Causeway Visitor Centre on Tuesday morning.
It is understood the man who was an American tourist tragically passed away after he sustained a serious head injury following a fall.
Although the man was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital it is believed that he sadly passed away a short time later.
Police investigating the incident say they received a phone call at approximately 11am on Tuesday morning alerting them to the incident.
It is reported that emergency personnel NI Ambulance Service rushed to the scene to rescue the man.
However despite the best efforts of of medical personnel he sadly passed away due to the extent of his injuries in hospital.
Police say an investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
