United In Tribute: Watch Irish fans pay tribute to Northern Irishman killed in Nice by singing ‘Stand Up For The Ulstermen’

The island of Ireland was united in spirit during the Republic of Ireland’s Euro 2016 fixture against Sweden yesterday evening.

The match which saw every Irishman singing and cheering took a remarkable turn in 24th minute as every fan in green paid tribute to Northern Ireland fan Darren Rodgers, who died in Nice on Monday morning by signing stand up for the Ulstermen.

The moment of solidarity came together when fans took to social media and arranged to sing the song in the memory of Rodgers aged 24, who sadly died after he fell over a barrier at the seaside promenade and went through the roof of the Castel Plage Restaurant.
