Some 1,000 people went to Firhouse Dublin on Saturday afternoon as a new Scientology centre was officially opened.
Amongst the small contingent of Irish scientologists expected to arrive at the centre, there were also attendees from the UK, and central Europe as well as the United States attending the event.
Gardaí revealed that they set up a small security detail ahead of the event which was fronted by leader of the Church of Scientology, David Miscavige.
