Water crisis: Residents across Drogheda and Meath advised to conserve water after major pipe failure

Thousands of residents across Drogheda and Meath have been urged to conserve water, after the main pipe connecting to the treatment plant at Staleen burst last night.

Irish Water have said that there is enough water at the reservoir to serve the population’s needs for now, but have strongly advised against water wastage.

Repair crews are at the scene, and contingency plans are being drawn up just in case.
