Pan-European air control management agency Eurocontrol has issued an urgent warning to airlines, advising of the possibility of missile strikes into Syria and resulting disruption to flight paths.
Air carriers have been warned that air-to-ground weapons or cruise missiles may be deployed in the immediate future, and that radar & radio equipment may experience disruption due to jamming and other electronic countermeasures.
Western powers, led by the US, are said to be considering ‘all options’ in the wake of an alleged chemical attack on a long-held rebel stronghold in Syria in recent days.
