British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced that the lifting of lockdown across the UK is being extended for 4 weeks until July 19th.
Lockdown was scheduled to end across the UK on June 21, but the new date is now July 19.
The country has seen a dramatic increase in new Covid-19 infections over the past few days. This increase has been blamed on the prevalence of the Delta (Indian) variant.
It’s understood that some restrictions will be eased, including increasing the number of people allowed to attend weddings.
