Gardai have appealed for people not to share horrendous footage that has been posted to social media of a woman being murdered allegedly by a 16-yr-old boy in her own home in Tullamore.

Gardai have launched an investigation following the death of a woman in Co. Offaly. She has been named as Lorna Woodnutt.

The incident happened at a private residence near Tullamore on Friday afternoon. It’s understood that she was attacked and sustained vicious injuries.

A 16-yr-old boy has been arrested in connection with this incident. It’s understood that attack was recorded and posted to social media.

Gardai have asked people not to share the incident if they receive it on social media.

The boy can be questioned for up to 24 hours. Gardaí are not looking for anyone else at present.
